Heya Everybody! First of all, it's coming close to the Christmas/New Year time, and we're all in for the celebrations! Unfortunately, as was mentioned before, Sweet Steel is currently in a half-active state, which will be the situation probably until spring. Despite this, however, we've done one nice recording in September, and probably will do at least one in December. We've got enough songs now for an album, and we're updating our instruments (more on this in the news section some time later) so we're coming into the New Year fully equipped to keep on working. The site is about to cross the 1000 hits landmark...Anyway, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, everybody, and we'll keep you updated! THE SHOW MUST GO ON!!!

News: 25.12.02 - Мдя...не все проходит так как надо. Несколько задержались фотографии из КПИ, надеемся что ненадолго. Студийная запись "Живи" тоже, судя по всему, не удастся. Что самое обидное...скорее всего проект мультимедиа-диска о группе отложен на неопределенный срок из-за временных сложностей. Однако есть и более светлые новости...на сайт сейчас вывешена наша новая песня, над которой мы усиленно работаем последнее время - "Новое Поколение (Я не хочу)". Текст песни был любезно предоставлен нам Анной Третьяк - сценаристом и одним из режиссеров известного киевского юношеского театрального коллектива "Дракон". Музыка написана Сапоном. Мы искренне благодарим Анну за столь ценный вклад в наше творчество...простым русским языком - с нас бутылка! еще одна новость - сайт наконец-то перешагнул через 1000 посещений! Это достижение! и хотя большинство из них принадлежит нам самим, много знакомых и не очень знакомых тоже побывало здесь! Мы благодарим всех, кто интересуется нашим творчеством!!! 16.12.02 - Ок, господа...с данной минуты рубрика новостей будет все же на русском...итак последние новости: В фотоальбоме наконец-то закончен аплоад всех фоток с летнего концерта. Также туда были кинуты фотки с репетиции от 14.12.2002 - в честь года нашему окончательному составу. Скоро там также появятся фотографии с концерта в ДК КПИ от 11.12.2002...к слову о нем - мы отыграли скромный мини-концерт в сем уважаемом месте вместе с группой Дионис, которые нас туда пригласили, по поводу юбилея какого-то факультета. Увы, концерт не был удачен, в основном благодаря тупому звукорежиссеру который не потрудился настроить нормально звук ни нам ни нашим коллегам из Диониса...надеемся что в следующий раз все будет несколько лучше. В ближайшее время мы надеемся записать песню "Живи" на новой студии...запись "Печали", к слову, получила крайне положительные отзывы, что очень приятно! Также есть мысли о еще одном концерте в КПИ. До нового года должен появиться мультимедиа диск, описывающий историю Sweet Steel, со всеми фотографиями за год работы, студийными записями, и множеством разных приколов! Надеюсь, что этот проект увенчаетсся успехом! До следующих новостей, господа! 28.11.02 - The site is now ready for Christmas celebrations - bells, snowmen, pine trees, city in snow in the background... 19.11.02 - Heya...a small update. I've redone the song list on the lyrics page and put in some new songs in there...all the links to all the songs should work now. 25.10.02 - Right, well, hmm...yes, I know the site wasn't updated for a long time and that not all the photos are uploaded yet...well, here's the reason: Unfortunately, neither the concert in KROK, nor the big anniversary party for Sweet Steel didn't take place. We've also had some internal problems in the band. As a result, nothing worth of mentioning was done during September. Since Alexey was supposed to leave right in the beginning of October weren't yet solved properly, we've decided to PUT THE PROJECT ON HOLD FOR A WHILE, until spring probably. This doesn't mean that nobody's doing anything or that the band is not jamming, but the official Sweet Steel franchise is temporarily out (and so are the site updates - that is the last update for the next month or two, at least)...let's hope it's not going to be for too long. The only thing worth mentioning happened just before Alexey had left - we've done a studio recording of Pechal! And it was quite good! Some minor glitches, of course, but generally the feedback from the listeners was rather positive, and in some cases even more than that! Everybody's done a great job! On that major note, I'll finish the report, and wish you all luck! I don't know when the site's gonna be updated next time - but let's hope it's gonna be soon! Bye-bye! 24.08.02 – Well, hello again. First of all, a huge sorry for not updating the site through the summer. The Internet connection in Kiev is somewhat crap, and it’s a pain to upload stuff…anyway, here is the all the latest news. It’s our anniversary today! A toast to Sweet Steel! A huge birthday party is coming up in September. We would have done it today but Sapon and Gera aren’t here, and also Slavik couldn’t make it, so we postponed it until everybody’s back…I’ll give out the date and place as soon as we’ll arrange it! We’ve got a concert at the end of September in KROK – we’re preparing for it now. Gera will take part in it. More about it as soon as more information is available from the KROK governing body. Now to the old news. The biggest thing this summer was our debut concert! In June, we’ve signed up to a social council of the Solomenskiy area in Kiev, and they provided us with space for jams and some equipment. Just as well, we’ve hastened to prepare for the concert and the 28th of June became our debut!!! We’ve played together with another band – DIONIS – they’re great guys! Malysh, Igra, Krik, and our new song – Pechal’ – that was our list. We’ve had amazing problems with technical stuff like mixer overloads, strings breaking, crash cymbal falling away from the stage, effects pedals switching off etc. but it was huge fun anyway. Lots of our fans came to listen and we had a great outdoors party afterwards. Overall, it’s been a success! Some birthday parties also came to be during this time. We’re still waiting for the photos! That’s it for now! Watch this space for updates on September! 09.05.2002 - Congratulations to everybody with the Victory Day! Anyway, the latest news are: the Lyrics section was seriously updated. It now has most of the texts for our songs in there, under the links in the album list. Also, some more photos have been uploaded to the photoalbum and still more are coming soon! Currently we've got a bit of a problem. We need a place to conduct the sessions in during the summer jam. Alexey's apartment was a good place but the acoustics weren't great, and also there's too much equipment now, so it doesn't fit in there properly. Thus, we need some kind of a garage or a mini-concert hall in some school or something. If anybody can help with any ideas, you're more than welcome to write in the forum or to one of the e-mails! 01.05.2002 - Yes, it's been a while since this section was updated. We don't have time to work with the website too much during the active session times. Anyway, the latest news. We've done a bunch of stuff during the spring sessions, some good, some bad, and some utterly amazing! It was all home recorded (the quality of course is lacking), and the best versions were copied onto the tape named "Sweet Steel: Spring '02". We've finally incorporated the drums into the home recordings, so at least we're sounding better than before in this way. Although the level of playing grew incredibly, in absolutely everyone's case. As for the concert, the reason is simple and stupid. Those organisers at Narhoz were telling us there aren't enough bands to take part in the festival, so it's not gonna happen, then, at the last second, signed a bunch of non-Narhoz bands and changed the date of the concert to 14-15 May to give them a chance to prepare. Since Alexey was leaving on the 28th April, we were unfortunately left out. Lyrics of all of our main songs are going to appear in the Lyrics section soon. New photos are also gonna be put online for everybody to enjoy. The Hardware section won't unfortunately be updated for a while, due to lack of time. 19.03.2002 - We've got a new section on our website - Our Hardware News. This sector will have descriptions, photos and interesting pieces of information on the instruments and hardware (like amps etc.) that we use, and later on will include all the main current news about our hardware. Also, the main page should download a bit quicker now -the picture files were compressed recently. 18.03.2002 - A little tasty piece of news here! We've got a new bass guitar - a Superstar. More on it in a week after our first session on it. 05.03.2002 - Hello everybody! It has been quite a while since the last update. First of all - those already involved know that: WE MAY HAVE A CONCERT IN SPRING!!! Well, at least a slot for three songs - those probably being Krik, Malysh and Ja Rodilsja Ne v Etom Mire. More on that as more details will surface. Also in the last news: we've got the winter studio photos developed now - but those are going to go onto the site by the end of March. They are good, trust me! Finally, the site is in the process of being graphically remade, so it's slower than it normally is. This is gonna last until the end of March. Sorry 'bout that! 16.02.2002 - Ok, sorry for the long delay, everybody. Arthur's and Ann's biographies are online now. Some more art and photos are in the photoalbum. About art - anybody who likes to draw something on the topic of Sweet Steel - do so! In fact, let's have a competition for the best free art drawing on the Sweet Steel topic! Also in the last news - Igor bought a 12-string thin-bodied electro-acoustic, which we certainly gonna use for the next recording of Malysh. 25.01.2002 - Almost all biographies are finally online. Only Arthur's and Ann's missing. Some new photos are also online. 21.01.2002 - There are finally a few photos on the site. There's also a new forum for us. All nice and constructive ideas about the site, general thoughts, talks, etc. should go downthere. Don't be shy, get your thoughts downthere. It's also a place for our friends to talk about whatever they want. 15.01.2002 - The site is finally updated first time for the last month!!! 14.01.2002 - Alexey left to England, everybody else remains to practice and work out ideas for Krik until spring. 12.01.2002 - We've gathered in Alexey's apartment for the last meeting before he leaves to England - and found out Ann is actually quite an amazing singer and a good guitar player. Alexey promised to write a song especially for her voice! 11.01.2002 - We've recorded Malysh on studio - not too amazing but good enough for a debut!!! And that's our first serious recording ever. Everybody got hold of a copy of the recording, so it's gonna get popular 'till spring! 09.01.2002 - We acquired the drum station and got hold of lots of professional technics - our big thanks to Vova for all that!!!!!!! 03.01.2002 - Sergej joined in. 25.12.2001 - Dima left the project. Ann finally joined in permanently. Vova and Slavik joined in too. 15.12.2001 - Arthur becomes the official commercial director and marketing manager! 10.12.2001 - Dima's biography is online.
